In the heart of the Spanish city of Salamanca, in 2015, the company Administration, Organization, and Control of Projects SL (AOC Projects) made a decision that would change many lives. In line with its social commitment, the company decided to support young people who needed more financial means to access quality education.
A scholarship program was therefore created in collaboration with Fomento de Fundaciones – a fund devoted to supporting initiatives in culture, education, and social welfare.
With Caritas Diocesana of Salamanca as a collaborator, work began identifying young people with the most significant potential and need. Caritas evaluates and proposes the beneficiaries and carries out follow-up.
Each application is treated with great care, attention, and detail because there are many dreams, fears, hopes, and aspirations behind each one. A joint committee meticulously reviews each case before making a decision. Beneficiaries must have a special connection with Salamanca, whether by birth, residence, family origin, or a specific dedication.
This Program covers tuition and teaching expenses as well as other maintenance costs necessary for students to concentrate fully on their studies. In return, students are required to maintain excellent academic performance to demonstrate their desire to make the most of this opportunity.
Additionally, beneficiaries commit to contributing to the Program’s sustainability once they have completed their studies, should their economic situation allow it, thus helping other young people in similar situations.
Since its inception, the scholarship program has supported 33 young people who, thanks to this help, have seen their academic dreams come true.
The collaboration between AOC Projects and Fomento de Fundaciones shows that when companies and organizations unite with a positive goal for society, the results can transform lives and build a brighter future.
In Salamanca, thanks to this Program, the talent of many young people no longer has boundaries.
